In this paper, a method for segmentation of brain tumor has been developed on 2D-MRI data which allows the identification (10-15 minutes operator time) of tumor tissue with accuracy and reproducibility comparable to manual segmentation (2-6 hours operator time) making the automatic segmentation practical reality for malignant tumors. In this scheme, after a manual segmentation procedure the tumor identification has been made for the potential use of MRI data for improving the approximate brain tumor shape and 2D visualization for surgical planning. Keywords

Design of a programmable digital down converter (DDC) has been proposed, which can be used in digital receivers that meets IEEE 802.16d/e (WiMAX) standard in wireless communication system. The design is based on the idea of software radio technology and the theorem of multi-rate signal processing, It can be implemented on FPGAs and can replace traditional ASICbased digital down converters in high channel count Software-Defined Radios. Keywords

Simulation has become a key issue in analyzing, optimizing and designing wireless systems. In this paper, a mathematical model for the power amplifier is implemented in Simulink to extend the RF Blockset to model wideband applications such as WCDMA. This model for the power amplifier implements a modified Saleh model. Saleh model is a quasi memory-less nonlinear model, and is converted into a straightforward and easy to implement model with memory effects. Keywords

Digital pre-distortion techniques are widely used in linearization of RF power amplifiers. In this paper Lookup- table (LUT) type Adaptive Digital pre-Distortion (ADPD) is presented. In this algorithm, an output signal of the Power Amplifier (PA) is used as reference signal. It is used to update the coefficients of the LUT, so that characteristics of the PA, such as temperature dependence, do not have influence on the convergence performances. Simulation results have been presented. Keywords

This work attempts to study the simulation of the kinematics routine for the axis control of the robot using brushless DC motor drive. The main motivation is to perform kinematics routines as well as control the robot in real-time. The graphical user interfaces (GUI) has been developed in Matlab. The GUI has been designed such that the user can get a feel for the kinematics of the 5-axis articulated robot. The system was developed for demonstrating the basic trajectory planning method for the axis control of robot. Further the trajectory planning platform was tested for a particular experiment and was found to be accurate enough for experimental purposes. This comprehensive software package allows the user to learn the various aspects of serial manipulator basics and also helps in exploring the concepts better by working in real-time.Keywords

This paper presents a novel architecture design for forward error correction technique based on RS coding scheme for wireless applications. The design was created using System Generator for DSP tool from Xilinx and was simulated on Matlab/Simulink environment. The hardware description language source code for different blocks was generated and the design was subjected to severe functional and timing constraints using Xilinx Foundation series and ModelSim tools. Synplify Pro tool was finally used to synthesize the complete design. The overall architecture for RS Coder-Decoder was implemented on Xilinx Virtex-II XC2v250 device and consumed slices 1429 for the CODEC at a clock frequency of 90 MHz. The architecture design power consumption analysis was done using the Xilinx Xpower tool and it came out to be about 783 mW.Keywords

A low leakage power, 45-nm 1Kb SRAM was fabricated. The stand-by leakage power of a 1K-bit memory cell array incorporating a newly-developed leakage current reduction circuit called a self-controllable voltage level (SVL) circuit was only 3.7 nW, which is 5.4% that of an equivalent conventional memory-cell array at a VDD of 1.8V. On the other hand, the speed remained almost constant with a minimal overhead in terms of the memory cell array area. Keywords

In most of the research articles, demand is considered either constant or a function of single variable which is not practical; customers' purchasing deeds may be affected by factors such as selling price and inventory level consequently in the present study we have considered demand rate as a function of stock-level and selling price both. Various researchers considered the situation in which shortages are either completely backlogged or completely lost which is not realistic therefore in development of this model it is assumed that shortages are partially backlogged and the most realistic backlogging rate is considered. In this research, we proposed a partial backlogging inventory model for decaying items considering stock and selling price dependent demand rate in fuzzy environment. In developing the model demand rate, ordering cost, purchasing cost, holding cost, backordering cost and opportunity cost are considered as triangular fuzzy numbers. Graded mean integration representation method is used for defuzzification. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the problem. Sensitivity analysis of the optimal solution with respect to the changes in the value of system parameters is also discussed. Keywords
